Analysis of the causes of end milling errors of high strength aluminum alloy

An analysis of the work on the role of «spindel — clamping chuck — end cutter» assemblies in technological processing systems has been carried out in terms of improving the accuracy of processing products from high strength aluminum alloys with end cutters. Analysis of the received dependencies showed that the size of elastic deformations of the end cutters with a cylindrical shank diameter of up to 12 mm is up to 10 percent in the balance of deformations in the assembly «spindel — clamping chuck — end cutter». The considered dependencies of elastic deformation can be used to predict the errors of the end milling products from high-strength aluminum alloys.

Keywords: milling, high-strength, aluminum alloy, clamping chuck, end cutter, amplitude-frequency characteristic.
