Non-destructive testing of subsurface defects by the thermal-imaging method

A study of subsurface defects for products made of steel 20X and PLA-plastic in order to determine their linear dimensions by the thermal imaging method was made. The possibility had been revealed for assessing the shape and size of defects at a depth of 2.5 mm to 5 mm. Scaling factors for calculating the linear dimensions of subsurface defects based on thermograms are determined. The results of the error estimation in the linear dimensions was determined by the thermographic imaging method.
