Visualization of powder flux in coaxial laser cladding and modification of its geometry depending on the injection parameters

The proposed method is applied to define the shape of the powder flux in laser cladding with coaxial powder injection and to analyze its variation with the typical process parameters, such as powder feeding rate and the width of powder injection channel. As an optical diagnostic tool, an infrared camera is used that later on will allow to obtain information on the powder flux heating. The obtained results allow to estimate the influence of the width of powder feeding channel on the shape of the powder flux at different powder feeding rates that is of interest for optimize the parameters of laser cladding.
