Contact pressure distribution in modified involute bevel gearing

The article deals with straight involute bevel gears with localized contact. Using them as an example the method of localized contact control at the stage of technological preparation of gear production is presented. The aim of the method is to minimize contact pressures in the absence of edge contact. The change of position of the instantaneous contact ellipse
at different phases of meshing is traced. Examples are given for the calculation of instantaneous contact areas with their detailing on the phases of single and double pair contact.
